Tax Dollars Send Ground Zero Imam on a Mideast Fundraising Trip

Feds Funding Ground Zero Imam's Mideast Trip

Funded by the State Department, Feisal Abdul Rauf, the imam behind a plan to build a mosque near Ground Zero intends to leave on a trip to the Middleast that will take him to oil-rich states - reportedly to include Saudi Arabia (home to the 9/11 hijackers), Dubai, Abu Dahbi, Bahrain, and Qatar). This raises taxpayer concerns that they may in fact be helping him achieve his fund-raising goal of $100 million dollars.

AGAIN: Muslims say one thing in English and the opposite in Arabic!
An Arabic-language newspaper interviewed Abdul Rauf and reported that he says he also will collect money from Muslim and Arab nations around the world.

"We know he has a fund-raising association with Saudi Arabia," said Debra Burlingame, a 9/11 family member.  Read more

NY Candidate Calls for Probe into Funds for the 9/11 Ground Zero Mosque

July 07, 2010: Two gubernatorial candidates are facing off: Andrew Cuomo supporting the mosque, while Rick Lazio says it poses a security risk.

On Wednesday Lazio called for an investigation into the project's funding sources.
  • Who is behind these investments?
  • What is their purpose?

Republican candidate for governor Lazio is calling on his Democratic opponent, Attorney General Cuomo, to launch an investigation.

Critics of the project at 45 Park Place said that this is not just for community outreach. They said the mosque will be used as a radical Islamic recruiting center. And they pointed to some of the things the imam has said -- and some things he refuses to say.
  • He has not condemned Hamas as a terrorist organization.
  • There are reports he was behind the funding of the flotilla which tried to break the blockade of Gaza.
  • And in a "60 Minutes" interview a few weeks after the 9/11 attacks, Imam Feisal said, "The United States' policies were an accessory to the crime that happened."
Lazio said that lack of transparency makes the mosque a security risk. But when CBS 2 HD pressed him on why Lazio took it a bit further.

CBS 2 HD: "Are you implying that they would be staging attacks from this mosque? Where does the danger come from?"

Lazio: "You've gotta be pretty concerned about the motivation of the people behind this."

Your Tax Dollars are Building Mosques
The Ground Zero Mosque controversy continues to stir up new revelations.

Aug 13th: Now we learn that tax dollars have been used to build mosques around the world.
And yesterday, Fox News reported that the Ground Zero Mosque imam has rejected an offer by New York Governor David Paterson to help move the mosque to another location. What does this tell us about the imam’s alleged commitment to interfaith bridge building? About his “sensitivity”?

A CNN poll this week revealed that 68% of American voters now oppose the Ground Zero Mosque! Driven by new revelations and increasing media coverage, this is an increase of nearly 10 points in the past 30 days. For example, since April Brigitte Gabriel has conducted nearly 200 radio and TV interviews about the Ground Zero Mosque! The rising opposition of public opinion certainly contributed to Paterson’s decision to try to mediate a solution and get the mosque moved.

You can help fuel this rising opposition by signing our petition if you haven’t yet done so AND forwarding this email to everyone you know!
